My Core Values
Saskia Nijs is an expert at the intersection of technology, humanity, and the future of work. Since the introduction of the internet in the workplace, she has guided organizations through digital transformation and meaningful, human-centered use of technology.
With experience at organizations such as Microsoft and Philips, she helps companies apply AI in a future-proof and people-first way. She combines science and practice in her work as a speaker, researcher, and entrepreneur.
In 2003, she joined Microsoft, where in 2008 she, as CMO, helped guide the organization toward The New Way of Working (now known as hybrid work). There, she experienced firsthand how to lead digital transformation, what technology can mean for human potential, and how successful technology adoption works.
She also introduced a leadership program to support leaders in navigating this new context. In 2014, she left Microsoft, inspired by the ways technology can amplify human potential.
She became a regular columnist for Het Financieele Dagblad and launched research into meaningful work with technology. In addition, she worked at Philips on transforming the international marketing organization into a health technology company. Since 2019, she has worked as an entrepreneur, supporting organizations at the intersection of business, HR, and IT—fields she believes are inseparably connected.
She combines her expertise in innovation and HR through her roles as a supervisory board member and executive, and collaborates with researchers and academics to study how AI and robotics are reshaping work.
Below are some of our use cases where, using the humain workforce approach, we have helped organisations with issues around engagement, workload and AI implementations.
At a mid-sized risk manager, the primary demand was to achieve more engaged employees as there was high turnover, vacancies were not being filled and the focus was on Buy & Build. Through creating a lived shared vision and strong core values, an authentic employer brand was created, ‘Be the You in the Bigger Blue’. This puts the unique qualities of the employees at the centre. By guiding the management team, managing by qualities ensures long-term success.
A large part of this energy company was at home with a burnout. The workload was too high and employees were not engaged in their work and only used a small part of their potential. By setting up an AI platform for all customer contacts, employees were able to further develop their technical skills, helping customers even better and getting employees back to work with a lot of energy.
At a scale-up working in the technology sector itself, we realised a humain workforce. This organisation is very good at innovating with their customers but they themselves did not have a future of work strategy for how their employees could work smarter. With the use of co-pilot, their business analysts and software developers can spend more time on customer relations and innovations and are now leading the way themselves in using AI as a personal assistant.
